Yeah they probably won't have any other good signings, I'm sure the staff there aren't talking to anyone else.

Will laugh if this is true as they'll be ten times better than the far higher credentialed chap they're replacing.

Realistically SW is the only place that they could go, everywhere else seems to be taken. Be interesting if the do

Torrents not involved. What a mistake. What will Zac Farter do now?

Logan just committed suicide with the appointment of their next womenís coach. Be ready for more years of underachievement and mediocrity!

re: "The same thing is happening (at) Rip City with their QBL Womens coach, the guy is 24/25/26 as well and (a stupid analogy I know:-) its like giving a kid on his "L"'s the keys to a Ferrari! ", above.

to my knowledge, Jay McC is (still) Ripcity's w's coach. If so, the analogy doesn't really apply. Jay has coached juniors (rep), SBL men, AC for Ripcity QBL men, had a reasonable inaugural season as w's head coach, and following on. He has been a long time member of the club (for a young club, which it still is) and Jay is well known and very respected through-out.

As well as being a student at USC (major sponsor) in sports (management/admin???) and working for the Uni in their gym.

Yeah, he is young. Isn;t that exciting?

      Too young too stupid.

Think you may be embellishing jays qualifications alot, he's trash if Rip genually want women to move forward they have to part ways completely.

I think you're making a generalization about younger coaches which is unfounded. If Jay has taken the route of Juniors coach, to SBL coach, to a QBL assistant then the pathway to a being a QBL coach is sound. It doesn't gurentee success but neither does being a good player guarentee success as a coach ala benny thompson etc

St Maurice in Townsville has decided not to coach the Townsville team - seems weird. Wonder who they will get now?

Big hole for Townsville to fill. He was a massive upgrade of the previous coaches they had in their women’s program. Turned around a sinking ship up north.

More like the connection he had with his wife being the Townsville WNBL coach helped him more than anything. Being able to retain players from the wnbl program was a huge help. Townsville don't pay their athletes good at all. They rely on the WNBL bullying there players to stay in Townsville or run the risk of losing their spot in the wnbl program. Vandy runs his mouth and rubs it in the players faces, they won't be successful for long. The only chance they have is if Wroble takes control again.

I'm hearing it's the reverse, which probably makes more sense. Robateau will playing with his dad and brother at the Phx next year. Looking to sign McVeigh too.

Well that didnít take long for some tool to start stirring shit.
At least we know your from uni now because this makes everyone that complained for the last two years happy.

The question may end up being who is going to be paying for your team.

        sorry

Issy Tueta signed with Rip again. Great for the club to retain him as he draws players as well.

Tueta doesn’t just draw players he draws up the plays. Best Player coach in the QBL

With the recent appointment of Sam Mac and Larkins to coaching QBL ranks......who else is there in Qld that could be successful should an opportunity arise ..........are the coaching stocks being developed ? Current AC's, past coaches, past players, current players.....who could step up ? Rocky have a good heir apparent/s in Richo or now Tragardh.....but who else ?

What development can be done for perpetrating a Head Coach other than spending time as an AC for an established coach. Some of the Head Coaches in the league have been great mentors to some of the aspiring coaches. It is based on the knowledge of the game and the league passed on by the Head Coach. Nothing else would prepare someone for the task

True, but those coaches have to have come through a system. I don't know, are coaches at Junior rep level being identified, educated and progressed through ranks? The group of coaches at BQ that seem to work with state teams, what education are they getting.....how is a coach selected for that program ?
It just seems that players pathways are becoming more and more a focus....but if the coaching stocks don't follow the same....who is there to teach the game ?

Coaching development for senior programs has been poor for some time, seems to me a problem at every association.

You pull a head men's or women's coach out, who are you going to replace them with? Most association's will not have a ready replacement who is suitable to take over the reins.

The issue is almost as dire as promotion of the state leagues, which is extremely poor and not fitting of the quality of players competing.
