auto qualified doesn't mean they don't play round 1, guess the result not sent to bq??

good to see the new comp guy at bq can't even be bothered to have the results uploaded... pretty sure there's a setting that uploads them once the associations do.

Quite pathetic to see some of the under 16 teams refusing to shake hands at the end of a game which they have lost

after 6 weeks of competition is this all we have. Does no one visit this site anymore ,where are all the bitchy parents and the hung up players. to be honest its my 1st time in 4 years but before that I was a regular user. I think we should build up the Logan and GC rivalry looks like they are the top 2 teams. As well who,s going to make the state team hands up please

I don't know, maybe the bitchy parents and hung up players are bottom age 18s now. Logan and GC top 2 obviously but you can't write off Ippy or Spartans for that matter. Good to see RIP stayed in PL after beating BBI silver.
State team from my purely amateur perspective; Deshawn, Regan, Preston, Tane, Lloyd, Declan, Tristan, Jacob, Dominic, Kyle, Tyrone. There you go, no need for trials now haha.

Good luck to everyone trialing for the state team, there is so much talent in this age group. State coaches have a tough job ahead of them.

So much for those predictions, several teams not living up to expectations

Not sure who the Competitions Manager is at BQ, but I think they must have fudged their resume ! The U16 Champs at the GC were below par. Court allocation meant no seating (space the games out), games not running to time and results not updated on the web until end of day...........simple stuff folks.

Why so? Maybe because your kid wasnít chosen? Was a tough call I know and anyone of the reserves could be in the 10 for sure but the kids chosen all deserve their place. Good luck to the Qld team and for those who didnít make it, this is only just the start not the end. Keep working hard the landscape is always changing.

this age group is very weak judging by the results at nationals in sunshine coast. Very concerning they cant perform on the big stage

BQ happy to take the money. Same price across the board for north and south. $3000 per player = $120,000 for the four teams. Are BQ worries about the results? I don’t think so. It’s all about the money.

I had a chance to watch both south teams.

                        Boys
First game they played was a comedy. Could not help but laugh, the game was a joke. Players playing one out. One player thinking he was Steph Curry. The coach had no control what so ever and kept the players out there. The kids that were playing with in the system didn’t stand a chance. Was a complete joke. Clearly the boys weren’t good enough.

                        Girls
Started off great finished second in their pool and then everything turned crap. Depending one scorer and the the bigs didn’t come to the party. The bigs were slow and unfit. The girls got smashed in the qtr final by north by almost 50. But of an embarrassment.

Questions need to be asked. Is the coaches, is it the players or are BQ just their to make money.

At the end of the day, BQ are not doing enough in the development within the junior systems which clearly shows in this age group. While many will be scratching their heads at how good the victoria system can be so successful, BQ should be looking at improving their style of play. Victoria are clearly the dominate state and steps should be taken to make the playing field level.

Kids will be kids. if they are not shown the fundamentals to compete at a higher level by BQ, then there needs to be a clean out of the whole organisation. Kids will watch NBA and clearly think they know better and will try and implement their game based on their favourite players.
